Is this project open source?

The Business Source License (BSL) is not an Open Source license. However, all source code is available from the start and most of the OSI criteria are met. As long as you qualify for the additional usage grant, found in the LICENSE, it is free to use at no cost.

Do I need to purcahase a commercial license?

You will need to purchase a commercial license if you do not qualify for the additional usage grant. Please contact our sales team to inquire about purchasing a commercial license.

Do I need to purchase a license to test the software?

No. Use limitations only apply to production use.

What is the additional usage grant?

The additional usage grant specifies under which conditions the software is free to use. If you do not qualify for the additional usage grant you will need to purcahse a commercial license.

Usage of the software is free for entities with both: (a) annual gross revenue under (USD) $1 million (according to GAAP, or the equivalent in its country of domicile); and (b) less than (USD) $5 million in aggregate debt and equity funding.

How do I contribute to the project?

You can contribute to the project by submitting a pull request to the GitHub repository. You will need to license your code under the BSD-3-Clause license; code contributions under the BSD-3-Clause are compatible with the BSL.
